AS HURRICANES DEVASTATE OUR COASTS HOW CAN REPUBLICAN NOMINEE PALIN DENY GLOBAL WARMING?
Everyone, the Wall Street media report, loves Sarah Palin. She is Governor of Alaska and may soon sit a heart beat away from a cancer ridden John McCain's Oval Office. Governor Sarah Palin clearly denies that global warming is the result of burning fossil fuels. Governor Palin also appears to be an eager shill for the oil and gas industry. Yes the fossil fuel industry, big oil, big gas, and big coal, you know, the same people who pedal the big lie that there either is no global warming or that if there is that fossil fuels play no role in producing it. No wonder Sarah Palin denies the conclusions of the scientific community that global warming is primarily the result of burning coal, oil and gas! She is their
candidate!
Palin is a natural nominee for the party of big oil and big gas, but what about global warming? Scientists agree, global warming is very real, a very serious threat to the future of humanity and yet people who have been made by big oil and big gas, like Palin, deny the truth.
Governor Palin's denial of global warming is similar to the kind of big lies that cigarette companies once promoted as they denied the terrible health effects of smoking tobacco!
Remember how the cigarette companies said smoking tobacco didn't cause cancer? Republicans played a prominent role in that great deception as well. While Republicans eventually had to accept that tobacco is a deadly thing to smoke they are still likely to deny global warming as they accept big donations from fossil fuel interests, coal, oil and natural gass. Palin is a champion of all fossil fuels.
Coping with the global warming threat is the most important issue for the security of the United States and all nations. Recent science confirms that we have greatly underestimated the impact of global warming but Sarah Palin denies the problem even exists. The survival of our species depends on acting with all deliberate speed to confront the problem of burning fossil fuels. Sarah Palin is unlikely to lead us in that direction.
Meanwhile, Senator McCain purportedly believes that global warming is a serious problem. Does John McCain really believe that global warming is a serious problem or is he just being the same old opportunistic politician he has always been? Does it matter to him that Palin disagrees with the Republican candidate for President on this matter? Has he even noticed she disagrees with him?
Frankly, the Republican record on denying global warming is a crime against humanity. Future generations will, no doubt, wish they could resurrect those leaders who denied global warming, if not to punish them, then to study how they could have been so incredibly incompetent and irresponsible. No doubt our suffering descendents would find that religious belief played the crucial role in denying reality, and in denying
them, our progeny, a world without global warming.
As island nations and our coasts are devastated by super hurricanes the suffering begins. Sarah Palin smiles as if as if all this destruction is merely wrought by the hand of God, and says "...drill, drill, drill!"
